George W. Bush
George W. Bush served as the 43rd President of the United States from 2001 to 2009.
President Bush was born on July 6, 1946, in New Haven, Connecticut, to Barbara and George H.W. Bush – later the 41st President of the United States. In 1948, the family moved to Texas, where George W. Bush grew up in Midland and Houston. He received a bachelor’s degree in history from Yale University in 1968 and a master’s degree in business administration from Harvard Business School in 1975. He served as a pilot in the Texas Air National Guard from 1968 to 1974. He settled in Midland, where he started an energy business and married Laura Welch on November 5, 1977. After working on his father’s successful 1988 Presidential campaign, George W. Bush joined a group of partners that purchased the Texas Rangers baseball franchise in 1989.
On November 8, 1994, George W. Bush was elected the 46th Governor of Texas. In 1998, he became the first governor in Texas history to be elected to consecutive four-year terms.
After the Presidency, George and Laura Bush founded the George W. Bush Presidential Center in Dallas, Texas. The Center is home to the Bush Presidential Museum and Library, which houses George W. Bush’s presidential papers. The Center is also home to the George W. Bush Institute, a public policy organization that focuses on economic growth, education reform, global health, and human freedom. The Institute supports the rights of women with its Women’s Initiative and honors those who have served in the United States armed forces through its Military Service Initiative.
President Bush is the author of a bestselling memoir, Decision Points. He also recently authored a book about his father, President George H.W. Bush, entitled 41: A Portrait of My Father. He and Laura have twin daughters, Barbara and Jenna, a son-in-law, Henry Hager, and a granddaughter, Mila Hager. The Bush family also includes two cats, Bob and Bernadette.

Education and Investment Opportunities
We know your time is valuable, and this two-day event is designed to capitalize on that fact. Gleaned from our two decades of experience running pooled investment funds in the SBRE space, Thursday is dedicated to investor education led by Fairway America’s CEO, Matt Burk. We get to the heart of the important issues investors need to know prior to viewing the fund presentations the next day. On Friday, SBRE entrepreneurs from around the country take to the spotlight to share their stories, strategies, and opportunities in timed presentations. Investors then get to ask questions of the fund managers and indicate their interest via hand-held device.
Just like all good things, this event is better shared with a spouse or significant other. With a vibrant arts scene and area shopping described as “one of the 10 best places to spend it all” by USA Today, Dallas is the perfect mix of big city (the country’s 9th largest) and cowboy – it is within a four hour flight of any major US city, the weather is temperate year-round, and who doesn’t enjoy a little flavor of the Old West now and then?
This is the perfect environment to socialize with people who, like you, are in a position to be interested and active in SBRE investment opportunities. The structure of the Summit allows for the strengthening of old bonds and the forging of new relationships. Investors, presenters, sponsors, and general attendees are encouraged to co-mingle throughout all educational sessions, meals, breaks, cocktail hours and activities.
After the presentations wrap on Friday, we will conclude the Summit in grand style with a finale gala dinner featuring President George W. Bush as our special guest. In an intimate setting of fewer than 300 guests, Mr. Bush will share candid insights on his eight years in the White House, his experiences with other world leaders, the nature of tough decision making, and the challenges of public leadership. This is sure to be a once in a lifetime experience for most and a memorable evening for all!

“The opportunity to meet and mingle with the presenters in a low key, aesthetically beautiful environment made communication and questions easy and inviting. The content, environment, food and drink made it a top notch event and we felt very educated and pampered.”
“Everything was run first class and the meetings started promptly and ended on time. The Fairway team ran a great first event so the challenge will be for them to have an encore or better performance in Scottsdale.”
“Fairway America ran the most enjoyable, financially productive and educational event that I have been to in years. I did not want the event to end it was that good.”
